Ethelbert Road Primary School is a fantastic place for children to learn and this was endorsed by OFSTED in September 2014. The role of the governing body is to support and encourage continuing development and improvement in the school.

I am Siobhan O’Connor and I have been involved with Ethelbert Road for twelve years since my youngest daughter started school here when it was an infant school. It is a privilege to continue to be part of the Ethelbert family through my role as Chair of Governors and to support all the children, staff and parents.

Headteacher

I have been the Headteacher of Ethelbert Road for fourteen years. It is a privilege to work with such a fantastic school community. I became Headteacher of Ethelbert Road in September 2014. I am passionate about providing every child with the best opportunities so that they can achieve to their fullest potential. I am proud to lead such a hard working and dedicated team of staff who enable our children to experience wonderful learning opportunities. Our school community of governors, parents and friends all work tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Vice Chair of Governors

I have been a governor at Ethelbert Road since 2001 and I am currently the Vice Chair of Governors and a Finance Governor. I am also a Faversham Town and Swale Borough Councillor. Before I retired I was a Chemistry/Computer Teacher at Borden Grammar School.

I have been a governor of Ethelbert Road since September 2015. I have 3 children at the school and am passionate about supporting our school leaders to achieve the best outcomes for children. I am responsible for health and safety and undertake regular monitoring visits.

I am a co-opted governor and relatively new to the governing board, having joined in summer 2015. I have a child currently in year 4 at Ethelbert. I work in the NHS as a clinical neuropsychologist with adults, and service lead. I am delighted to be a governor and I am looking forward to working with fellow governors and the staff team to support the school in achieving the best outcomes and opportunities for all pupils.

Parent Governor

I am Kristian Garsed, a parent governor at Ethelbert Road Primary School. I have two children who are both pupils at the school and I have been a governor since early 2015. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and to work with the Headteacher, the staff, my fellow Governors.

I have been the Staff Governor since September 2017. I am the Deputy Head of our school and support the governing body in monitoring all aspects of school improvement.

I am delighted to be a governor of Ethelbert Road and currently have one child at the school. I am passionate in my desire to help achieve the best possible schooling experience for our children, through the continual support and development of teachers and staff, whilst ensuring Ethelbert Road is financially secure to continually deliver the best for our pupils.

I am a passionate advocate of Ethelbert Road and have three children who all attended the school. I have been a governor since 2017 and am responsible for safeguarding and online safety.

I have worked at Ethelbert Road since September 2011; I have been a school governor since September 2016. I have been involved with the school for a long time as my children attended Ethelbert Road.
